If you hang your active bass guitar, never leave it plugged in, it will drain your bass battery, but since these came out of the box, what is happening man, two basses in a row that went wrong...

I'm glad this thing sounds great because I'm not gonna lie; I'll probably get the most of my milage from the neck pick up (I'm kind of a post-hardcore; punk and hardcore pick player who dabbles in distorted power chords; I palm mutes his chugs because of how much gain I use). I honestly just love the look of it. My only gripe is that they didn't make it in more colors. I'd love to see one of these in a deep, wine red or maybe some sort of sunburst.

Guild all way. Squier is ok, but boring. Mustang is awful, i don't like this one

Keep the Pbass. I listened with my eyes closed. The Pbass regardless of price sounds the best.

The Guild has a nice punch to the sound though it is the thicker body.

another epic content as always. I am currently using a black edition DCX Bass in EQ mode as a tone shaper with my Darkglass Alpha Omega Photon. Now, I'm just waiting for my OE Bass Rig 64 Black to arrive to add to my minimalist fly rig. I plan to place the Bass Rig at the end of the chain (EBMM Stingray 4 > DCX Bass > DG Alpha Omega Photon > 64 Black). I intend to use the DCX Bass as a boost or for my clean tone, and have my Darkglass drive the Bass Rig. Considering that they are all preamps, would it be too much to have three preamps on one board? If you can please create a content stacking pre amps like origin with darkglass would be killer.

Coil tap has more to do with allowing high-wind, hot puckups to be "tapped" to where the amp sees a more vintage signal from the pickups. A coil tap bypasses several hundred winds so that, in theory, the signal from the strings is audibly being picked up by a portion of the winds, thereby allowing a high-wind pickup to sound more like a lower-wound pickup. Also, coil tap can work on both humbucker and single coil pickups. A coil split allows a player to turn off one bobbin's winds of a humbuckimg pickup and allow signal to only pass through one bobbin of the humbucker. This gives a humbucking pickup a more single coil-like sound. Usually, a coil split sounds a bit anemic compared to a purpose built single coil pickup so some pickup builders are splitting the humbuckers to where only a percentage of the second coil of the humbucker is bypassed to allow a "split" humbucker to not have too dramatic of a volume drop when switching from full humbucking to split mode..

Can this bass support a drop B tuning in manufacturing conditions?

Personally I prefer the Squier or the Guild over the Vincent. I feel like the Squier and the Guild have pretty similar sounds, but the Guild has more high mids. If you enjoy playing the Squier more keep it. If the more unique sound of the Guild is something you really like to have keep it.

I don't usally like shortscale basses but the Vincent Pony, sounds killer! Anyways, i also love the Squier great tone too.

I have the same fiesta red Squier Precision. This is my favourite instrument despite of having more expensive Fender Ps. I play the Squier with Thomastik Infeld Flats and I replaced the stock pickup for a Seymour Duncan SPB-1. So authentic massive sound/tone not to mention the playability, ergonomics and the cool colour too.. Rock on Jonny! 😃

I'm thinking of getting this one and converting it into a fretless (I know HB makes a great fretless jazz bass , but I love working on instruments and consider this a project) , I just wonder how the block marks would affect the sound , and wether I should go with the JB-62CC model instead , that doesn't have them. Are those two much different in terms of quality?

As for the Ibanez Talman TMB100, I bought one recently. I agree about the preamp being quite hot - the bass boost is borderline unusable (basically makes the bass fart) and the volume pot should sit at 50% max, BUT the treble boost actually makes this bass crazy versatile - works like a tone pot from any other bass but can bump up the high end much better. For this reason, I'd actually recommend it for beginners who want to try out various sounds and styles, plus the satin neck is super nice to play on

You should call the Vincent Pony "November"

They all sound great for different things. The Guild is a little dark through that amp sim - probably what you're looking for as a semi hollow with flats, but I actually like how the top end sounds on it direct. The Mustang is the best all round, but that price! I like that it sounds great in every scenario. In terms of versatility, the P Bass could go with almost anything sound wise.

The Squier precision is the best. But for this reason probably this one is the easiest to sell.

Keep the Squier. The Guild having a unique sound potentially limits its usage and the awkward ergonomics just adds to the argument for moving it on. You don’t own the Vincent, so that’s going back anyway (nice bass nonetheless).

I would go for the vincent poni bass, no question. And i am a big fender fan😂

Keep the Squier! To me the Mustang JMJ is the best you can get for your money on short scale

A little while back you did a killer cover on that P-bass. The others sound good, but boy-oh-boy, that Precision has something smooth and full about it.

They sound pretty similar via my pc speakers, there is a difference but nothing significant. I like the look of the squire and it sounded a teeny bit better in some parts. I think it's down to whichever is nicest to play or unique or in my case, cheapest.
